CNN —The Chevrolet Malibu, the last sedan still sold by General Motors’ biggest selling brand, will end production this year, the company announced. Malibu production will end in November as the factory that builds it, the Fairfax Assembly Plant in Kansas City, Kansas, is reconfigured to build a new generation of the Chevrolet Bolt EV. Chevrolet stopped making its Mustang competitor, the Camaro, last year. The Malibu was introduced back in the 1960s as a more luxurious version of the Chevrolet Chevelle, called the Chevelle Malibu. The Malibu model line ended production in 1983 but was brought back again in 1997, and has been in production since then.

“I love realistic space movies … I’m definitely a nerd,” reads Chris Birch’s answer on her profile page. That response proved prescient: shortly after stepping away from her professional cycling career, the Arizona native was selected from more than 12,000 applicants to join NASA’s astronaut class of 2021. The further she progressed with her application to join NASA, the more convinced she became that she had a future in spaceflight. “I really just had a blast,” Birch tells CNN Sport. “I absolutely would love to explore off this planet,” says Birch.

General Motors said on Wednesday that it would stop making the Chevrolet Malibu, the last affordable sedan in its U.S. model lineup and a venerable nameplate that was introduced in the 1960s when the company was a dominant force in the U.S. economy. For years, American drivers have been gravitating toward sport utility vehicles and away from sedans, compacts and hatchbacks. G.M.’s two Detroit rivals, Stellantis and Ford Motor, have also largely wiped their slates clean of cars in the United States. Last month, Subaru, a Japanese automaker, said it would stop making its Legacy sedan next year. produces the Malibu at a plant in Fairfax, Kan., and will continue to manufacture the car until later this year, when it plans to retool the factory to make a new version of the Chevrolet Bolt, an electric car, and the Cadillac XT4, a luxury S.U.V.

Amgen is among the leaders of a pack of drugmakers racing to join the market with their own weight loss treatments. Amgen's drug, MariTide, is taken less frequently than Novo Nordisk's Wegovy and Eli Lilly's Zepbound, and may cause longer-lasting weight loss than the market leaders' injections. Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly are also working on new weight loss drugs. The competition for a slice of the weight loss market has only grown more fierce in recent months. “I think we also saw this different sensibility about how to clear protests,” Straub said of the police response to campus demonstrations. In some cases, officers couldn’t distinguish lawful protesters from those who were being disruptive or causing violence, he added. The agreement mandated the NYPD to “change how it deploys officers to public demonstrations,” to better allow the public to exercise their First Amendment rights. “I spent two very intense weeks working on it, every night, every weekend, all the time that I had,” he said. Mr. Bolt was hoping to create the design for Lego Ideas, a program the toymaker started in 2008 to solicit ideas online directly from fans. Typically, designers post their concept on the platform, and if a design gets 10,000 votes, the company considers it for production. This case was different, though: It was the first time the company had given fans a concept to work with. A panel of judges selected his set and four others for a shortlist, and in a vote fans chose his set as their favorite.

The second is the rate of EV sales growth is slowing, at least temporarily. The EV market is not collapsing, experts say, it’s just entering a new phase. Teslas still make up slightly more than half of all the electric vehicles sold in America, according to a report from Cox Automotive. But, just one year ago, Tesla produced more than 60% of all the EVs sold America. After having trouble cranking up production of its new generation of electric vehicles, GM seems to be accelerating.

"I don't think they lack for anything that they need," Lyle Goldstein, director of Asia engagement at Defense Priorities, said of China's forces. Military forces are being deployed nearer to Taiwan than ever, effectively shortening Taiwan's reaction time. Automakers have been selling data about the driving behavior of millions of people to the insurance industry. In the case of General Motors, affected drivers weren’t informed, and the tracking led insurance companies to charge some of them more for premiums. This month, my husband received his “consumer disclosure files” from LexisNexis Risk Solutions and Verisk, two data brokers that work with the insurance industry and that G.M. I had requested my own LexisNexis file while reporting, but it didn’t have driving data on it. While debate rages on about when the Federal Reserve might start cutting interest rates, biotech industry analysts are making the case that the argument for stocks in the sector is growing. Last week, Morgan Stanley analysts noted that it is the months leading up to an initial rate cut when biotech stocks outperform. Morgan Stanley also believes the case for biotech stocks is further reinforced by the financing environment and the outlook for mergers and acquisitions as well as upcoming innovation. The case for innovation Morgan Stanley also favors owning biotech stocks that have a strong drug platform even if the key catalyst of clinical trial data and FDA approvals are farther out. Rhythm ranks among the stocks rated overweight that Morgan Stanley favors in this category.

If you’re not having sex like porn stars, you’re not having good sex. One of the most pernicious myths is that sexual desire is “an electric spark of wanting” that happens naturally and instantaneously. There’s no such thing as normal when it comes to sex, and there’s more than one way of experiencing sexual desire. Even though I’m reading and writing and thinking and talking about sex all the time, I end up with no interest in actually having sex. When you talk to people who have great sex lives, they don’t talk about desire.

737 Max 9 blowoutA gaping hole where the paneled-over door had been on Alaska Airlines Flight 1282. NTSB/APIn January, a Max 9 door plug blew out on an Alaska Airlines flight that took off from Portland, Oregon. Boeing's CEO, Dave Calhoun, hosted an all-hands meeting with employees shortly after the incident. "We're going to approach this, number one, acknowledging our mistake," Calhoun said at a 737 Max factory in Washington, according to multiple media outlets. Less than two weeks before that episode, Boeing had asked airlines to inspect all its 737 Max planes for loose bolts.
